Will Will Return by Lorna Gail Mills Nielson Wood
Happy Sunday, Sunday, January 31, 2021
I am so enjoying reading the stories coming in. I keep thinking of more stories I could share myself... I often miss them the first time.
For example, Kenzi usually shares a little about people she is teaching on her mission and sometimes she asks us to pray for them. So, after PDay on a Monday night in early January, I prayed for Leslie. The next morning, when things were quiet and I find it easiest to hear promptings, I had the thought that I should ask Kenzi to include Trent and I in their next discussion with Leslie. I immediately talked myself out of it thinking I was being an overbearing mother. The week continued on with personal prayers offered. Then Thursday, out of the blue, Kenzi calls. I thought for sure she had been in an accident or was getting to go to Barcelona, her original assignment. That was when she asked Trent and I to join her that night for a discussion with Leslie. She has never invited us before (or since) so the fact that I had the idea to ask a couple days before she invited was too coincidental to be a coincidence for me. Those are the times I wonder just how involved my Savior is in my life. Something to think about!
And now the story, you've been promised. This one from Aunt Lorna Gail. She sent several as well as some from our grandparents/great grandparents. It was a tough decision which to share, but I'm going with the one in the middle. You'll have to wait to get the prequel and sequel to this story!
"April 1984 ---- My Will left for greener pastures just
a few weeks before the Mills reunion at the cabin. I was lonely, scared,
mad, rejected. A real mess. Len came by the house on their way
home. He gave me a beautifull blessing. I remember very clearly
some of the words in it. "Will will return and you will be reunited
as a family.
A few more weeks time passed. Nothing seemed to be going right. My Home
Teachers came. They offered to give me a blessing. It was a
beautiful blessing. When finished my Indian son, Everett, spoke up and said,
"Mom he said the same thing uncle Len said. Will will return and you will
be reunited as a family." Oh how I wanted that. I clung to
those words. They didn't say when or if it would even be in this life but
I knew it would happen.
It took about 8 1/2 years but Will did come back and we were remarried on
our aniversary Aug 1992. What a blessing to have my family back
together. We watched as he grew in the gospel and was rebaptized then got
his Temple and Priesthood blessings back. It took some time to accomplish
all this but we had a wonderful 26 years back together until he passed away
Sept 2018."
Until next time - please keep the stories coming in::
Valerie
